Roman Miklaszewski

Folk sculptor. He was born in 1959 in Sierpc. One day comming back from school he met the local curvers while working. He became so fascinated that before ending his primary school he made first attempts of curving himself. He is keen on either sacral (angels) or laic (fishermans, country musicians) motives. He has been contestant and the winner of many competitions and open - airs.

Here are some of them:

1981 - "Wisła w sztuce ludowej",

1983 - "Madonny Mazowieckie" - III prize,1985 - "Zło Dobrem Zwyciężaj" - II prize,

Adam Wydra

Folk sculptor - member of folk artists society. He was born in 1953 in Łuków. After marriage with a daughter of well known sculptor Wac?aw Suska, Adam Wydra joint the group of outstanding folk sculptures of Łukowski Center and first fascinated, started curving himself. He is famous for his sculptures of holy images and figures of the country dwellers shown while doing different daily activities. His works can be found in the museums in different towns such as Warsaw, Cracow, Lublin or Łuków and in many private collections either in Poland and abroad.Adam Wydra's arts have been taking part in numerous competitions and exhibitions. His arts have been awarded significant prizes such as the prize of prestige:

"Ministerialna Nagroda Artystyczna Młodych im. Stanisława Wyspiańskiego" - Warsaw 1985,

"Twórczość ludowa w tradycji polskiej wsi" - wyróżnienie,

"Sztuka ludowa województwa siedleckiego" - II prize,

Helena Miazek

Cut-outs maker. She was born in 1942 in Łowicz district. She has been cutting out since she was 4, first under her mother supervision. In 1961 she joint cooperation "Sztuka Łowicka" where she was working for 27 years as a folk artist. Many times as a representative of "Sztuka Łowicka" she entered a lot of competitions and exhibitions organized either in Poland or abroad where she was often awarded with the prizes or distincions.

Roman Śledź

Folk sculptor. He was born in multinuclear farmer's family in chełmski district. He started curving at the age of 20. For very long time his works didn't attract much attention. In Cepelia where he showed his sculptures they called them not rustical enough. He couldn't understand this opinion particularly that his works met considerable approval from other artists. Later on, his art has received bigger attention of the critics. Nowadays he is without doubt one of the most oustanding folk artists in Poland. In his works diamates sacral motives (like Pietas/Passion). He has been the contestant and the winner of many competitions and exhibitions of prestige either in Poland or abroad. His works are on display in the permanent exibition in Warsaw Ethnography Museum.

Folk sculptor. He started curving at the age of 13. At the begining he treated this only as nice way of spending leasure time. Later on, however curving in wood took up his attention more seriously. When he was 20, he started writing poems mostly about nature surrounding him. The motives of nature dominate in both his arts. Artist cooperats with museums in: Warsaw, Węgorzewo, Toruń, Chojnice, Augustów,Płock and Sierpc and local culture centers in Gdańsk, Gdynia, Warsaw, Poznań and Płock, where he has permanent expositions. Many of his works can be found etiher in Poland and abroad.
